Sr. ETL Developer/Data Analyst

 

Job Description:

Gravitant is seeking an experienced Senior ETL Developer/Data Analyst to work in our innovative product development team to design and implement next-generation predictive IT management applications. The successful candidate will use their years of experience to perform data modeling, data analysis, data integration modeling and design, and implementation of datamart and operational data store databases. The application development includes design and development of report queries, frameworks, and adapters for data integration (ETL) between operational systems and operational data stores. Also, you will work with professional service teams to support data modeling, design, SQL review and optimization for customer engagements.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand concepts of contract management defined by service level agreements
  • Communicate with customers to obtain data requirements and perform data analysis on data provided
  • Design and implement data integration modules for Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) functions
  • Design, implement, and maintain a reporting, monitoring, and dashboards framework
  • Develop reports and dashboards for the product and support specific customer projects
  • Develop aggregation, monitoring, and alerting tools/modules
  • Participate in the overall development process via architecture guidance, design and code reviews, and estimation and planning assistance.
  • Investigate new technologies and advances, especially in the areas of business intelligence

 

Qualifications:

Required

  • Minimum 5 years of software development experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with data warehouse design
  • Experienced in defining and manipulating complex SQL including mathematical functions, grouping, joins, sub-select, etc.
  • Experienced in data loading, extraction and manipulation for diverse RDBMS
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet formats for data analysis, organization, and loading
  • Experience with various ETL, data warehousing tools and concepts
  • Experience in query tuning and concepts
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related areas

Familiarity with following tools/technologies

  • Data Modeling: ERWin, Visio
  • UML: Rational Software Modeler, Rational Rose
  • ETL Tools: Pentaho Kettle
  • Data/SQL Mapping: iBatis
  • Databases: MySQL, Oracle
  • Application Servers: JBoss, WebSphere

Preferred

  • Exposure to dynamic web-based user interfaces for reporting/monitoring/dashboards.
  • Experience in working in fast-paced startup companies and with commercial software product development
